Postavení Evropské unie ve světové ekonomice

Abstract

Cílem této diplomové práce je na základě historického uspořádání a vývoje světové ekonomiky analyzovat pozici Evropské unie v konkurenci největších ekonomik světa na počátku 21. století. Součástí práce je také snaha přiblížit možné budoucí rozložení sil ve světové ekonomice při zohlednění hospodářské a demografické situace největších ekonomických celků světa. Práce pojednává o vývoji světové ekonomiky a popisuje procesy, kterými světová ekonomika procházela od 19. století až po současnost. Dále jsou charakterizována a komparována centra světové ekonomiky z hlediska základních makroekonomických ukazatelů. V práci se autorka zaměřuje na společnou obchodní politiku Evropské unie a přiblížení obchodních vztahů Evropské unie s největšími ekonomikami světa, konkrétně se zaobírá především vztahy se Spojenými státy americkými a Japonskem. V závěru práce analyzuje současné postavení Evropské unie ve světové ekonomice a přibližuje možné rozložení sil v ekonomice v budoucnosti. Analýza současného postavení je zpracována prostřednictvím srovnání makroekonomických údajů vybraných zemí a zaměření se na pozici Evropské unie v mezinárodním obchodě. Z práce také vyplývá obava z ohrožení postavení Evropské unie ze strany rychle se rozvíjejících asijských ekonomik, jejichž pozice ve světové ekonomice rok od roku sílí na úkor tzv. “západních“ ekonomik, aniž by jejich vývoj reflektoval negativní účinky hospodářské krize. Za tyto země je třeba jmenovat Čínu, jejíž rychlý hospodářský růst a početná demografická základna utváří předpoklady pro její možnou budoucí dominanci v mezinárodním obchodě, potažmo světové ekonomice.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the position of the European Union in the world economy in the 21st century. This analysis is based on historical structure and developement of the world economy. Description of the possible future balance of power in the world economy is also included, taking into account economic and demographic situation of the world´s largest economic entities. The thesis deals with the developement of the world economy and describes the processes by which the world economy was going through from the 19th century till nowadays. Furthermore, there are characterized and compared the centres of the global economy in terms of basic macroeconomic indicators. In this thesis the author focuses on the European Common Trade Policy and clarification of the trade relations between the European Union and the largest economies in the world, especially the United States of America and Japan. In conclusion of the thesis the author analyzes the current position of the European Union in the world economy and describes possible balance of power in the global economy in future. The analysis of the current position is based on comparing the macroeconomic data of few selected countries and on focusing on the EU position in the international trade. The thesis also shows concern about danger of losing European Union´s position as a result of influence of fast–growing Asian economies, whose position in the world economy is growing every year at the expense of economies of the “West“ without their reaction to the negative effect of the economic crisis. For these Asian countries is necessary to mention China, whose rapid economic growth and numerous demographical base creates conditions for its possible dominace in the international trade or more precisely in the world economy in future.
