Abstract
The Europe 2020 Strategy is one of the EUʼs growth Strategy, which was launched in 2010 for a period of ten years. It followes the previous Lisbon Strategy and its aim is to achieve a higher economic growth and employment.
The diploma thesis evaluates the fullfilment of Europe 2020 Strategy Objectives by the EU-27 countries focusing on the Czech Republic in the period 2007–2014 using the selected mathematical and statistical methods.
Using cluster analysis five clusters was created based on a similarity of the states in the fulfillment of the individual Strategy Indicators. Cluster 3 was considered as most developed cluster a and it included the Scandinavian countries and Austria in the year 2014. On the contrary, Cluster 5 was the less developed cluster and involved the countries that were most affected by the crisis (Malta, Portugal, Spain, Italy). In comparison with the EU-27 average, in the year 2014, the Czech Republic achieved better results in the fullfilment of the union Strategy indicators. It reached the better results in five of the eight indicators. The Czech Republic has established twelve national indicators and it fulfilled only three of themin the year 2014.
