Zefektivnění expedice zlepšením předcházejících procesů pomocí metody DMAIC

Abstract

The thesis has been written in the central warehouse environment of a well-known trade company and deals with an increase of efficiency using Six Sigma approach. The aim of the thesis was to enhance a pre-shipment processes and stages applying individual phases of DMAIC method. Opportunities for an enhancement were revealed after the application of the method while adhering to a logical sequence of individual phases. Awareness of new products before they are taken into the stock is considered to be one of the main opportunities. The awareness enables to achieve a prediction about a future product behaviour in the entire material flow of the central warehouse and prevent possible divergences which could have a negative impact on customers. The main result of the enhancement project is an implementation and application of a reliable tool that provides simultaneous review of not only new but also existing products in order to reduce or eliminate all possible divergences in particular procedures of the material flow.
