Abstract

The thesis aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the problem of co-generationof electricity and heat using a gas mine. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part is the introduction of co-generation and second part deals with the assessmentof the effects of cogeneration units to the distribution network. It is further subdivided intothe first part of the basic concepts of cogeneration, gas mining in the Ostrava-Karvinamining district as a secondary source of energy and cogeneration units burning gasmining. The second part deals with analysis of data obtained from the cogeneration unitand the specific Developments and prospects of the use of gas mining in the Ostrava-Karvina coalfield.
