Abstract
This thesis examines a comparison of pre-selected flow meters at the Faculty of Safety Engineering. The aim of the thesis is to experimentally test the flow meters and, based on the results, compare them in terms of measurement accuracy, design, and overall usability. In the practical part of the thesis, four available flow meters were tested at the Faculty of Safety Engineering and the Technical Institute of Fire Protection. The measured data were compared with a reference weighing method. The measurement results confirmed that the Magflo 1100/3000 flow meter achieved the highest accuracy. The Flowpod 3000 DL flowmeter was selected as the most suitable flowmeter for measurements in firefighting practice due to its mobility, ease of use, and measurement stability. Based on the findings, it is possible to correctly select a measuring device for testing firefighting equipment and fire pumps, as well as for on-site measurements at the scene of an incident.
