Abstract

The submitted doctoral thesis provides a comprehensive overview of the geological and hydrogeologicall conditions of the Slatinice waste dump. The doctoral thesis summarizes available knowledge in the field of geology, hydrology, hydrogeology and history of brown coal mining in the area of interest. Part of this work is evaluation of newly found facts from geological survey carried out especially in years 2014 – 2018. This survey found enormous water bearing of Slatinice waste dump base in its eastern part. Due to the future mining operations of the nearby Vršany mine, the doctoral thesis proposes a technical solution for the drainage of the waste dump base.
