Abstract
My diploma thesis focuses on calculations on ship with installed pipelaying systems. In the
beginning is an explanation of these systems and their usage on the ships. This is followed by
theoretical parts, which is dedicated to formulas and connections necessary to determine load
balance and short circuit resistance. There is also focus on IT networks, grounding, drives with
brake resistors and also backup supply UPS.
The design and analytical part was to verify the assumptions and evaluate whether the system
meets short circuit current requirements.
