MACEDONIA'S ACCESSION PROCESS TO THE EU

The purpose of the master’s thesis is to analyze whether Macedonia is ready to join the EU in the near future. It discusses in detail characteristics of the political and economic situation of Macedonia and on the progress which the country achieved in meeting the Copenhagen criteria. The work is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter focuses on the emergence of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and on developing of Macedonia within this Federation and after its disintegration. The second chapter analyzes the economic situation of the country with macroeconomic indicators. The second part of the chapter focuses on the characteristics of the political system in the country. The final chapter analyzes the accession process of Macedonia to the EU and how the country fulfills the Copenhagen criteria. In the second part of the chapter is evaluated questionnaire that reflects respondents' views on the EU and its and its enlargement of other Member States.
