Abstract
This bachelor thesis is devoted to the relations and chemistry of the source and mining waters of the Vršany region. The paper examines results of a chemical analyse of water samples performed in course of one year by researchers of the Brown Coal Research Institute. Acquired data were subsequently used for geochemical modulation using The Geochemist’s Workbench and PHREEQC for Windows programs. An output of the geochemical modulation were calculations of water blending in the region and Piper, Durov and Stiffe graphs that show the similarities and differences in chemistry of source and mining waters of the Vršany region. Based on the Stiffe diagram results, the waters were classified into four geochemical groups: (1) Na – HCO3, (2) Ca – SO4, (3) Na – SO4, and (4) Ca – HCO3. The results were interpreted according on the difference of water samples amongst the individual collectors and share of the chemical composition with mining water.
