Abstract

The diploma thesis generally deals with the issue of family business and their economic performance through financial analysis. The aim of the work is to compare the financial situation of three large selected family businesses using traditional, bankruptcy and creditworthiness indicators and models and to determine which company is in the best financial condition. The theoretical part first describes family business in the Czech Republic, its new definition, history, typology, well-known companies of this type and ways of support in the Czech Republic. Then, It focuses on individual selected methods of financial analysis and decision-making method, which consists of a combination of classical ones. The practical part then applies these methods to individual companies and later scores their results. Finally, the point is compared and the company with the highest economic performance is determined. The conclusion then includes recommendations to individual companies.
