Abstract

In this thesis reader gets to know more about modern ways of development of Web applications based on Rich Internet Application technologies. RIA applications with its user interface and functionality are quite close to desktop applications. The aim of this work is to obtain an overwiev about the technologies for implementation of RIA applications. This thesis is about AJAX technology, which does not need any supplement to run on the client side. There are also described proprietary technologies, which need installation of plug-in on the client computer, further in the thesis. The practical part is focused on demonstrating Silverlight 2.0. All significant features which this technology brought are practically presented in the application. For example work with Web services, LINQ to XML, styling components, animation, Local Isolate Storage, etc..
