Analýza ekonomické sladěnosti Chorvatska s eurozónou

Abstract

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the state of Croatia's readiness to adopt the euro on the basis of an analysis of selected indicators. The work is divided into three main parts. The first chapter defines the theoretical knowledge of the development of Economic and Monetary union since the end of the Second World War. The following chapter is devoted to comparing the development of the economies of Croatia and the euro area. Within this chapter, selected indicators of cyclical and structural alignment and adjustment mechanisms are characterised. The contents of the last chapter are the evaluation of the convergence criteria on the basis of the European Commission's convergence reports, characterization of the advantages and disadvantages of adopting the euro, the presentation of the opinion poll of the euro in Croatia and description of the possible course of the exchange of kuna for the euro. The chapter is concluded with the comprehensive assessment of the state of Croatia's readiness to adopt the euro.
