Matematické modelování hodnocení kostního věku z RTG obrazových dat

Abstract

Bone age assessment (BAA) is a diagnostic method providing the possibility to differentiate the bone age from the biological age. There are two main methods of bone age assessment – GP atlas method and TW2 method. Both these methods are subjective and time consuming. Bone age assessment is important especialy for children with endocrinal malfunction connected with malfunction in secretion of growth hormones, for monitoring of growth hormone treatment or for evaluation of patient before surgery. Theoretical part is focused on bone constuction and osteogenesis, on classification of bone age and on available applications for this classification. Practial part is dedicated to design, development and implementation semiautomatic software application which classifies the bone age from X-ray picture of child’s left hand.
