Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the production of castings from aluminum alloy AlSi7Mg0.3, which are cast by low-pressure casting into a steel mold. The technological steps in the design of these castings and their role in the chassis system of vehicles are discussed here. The functionality of the steel mold and the possibilities of influencing the quality of castings by means of cooling, inserting or design of the mold are described. The discrepancies that accompany the production processes of aluminum alloy AlSi7Mg0.3 are also viewed. The solution of these discrepancies was realized on the real production process of the rear knuckle casting.
