Abstract

Plašťák, Jakub, Bc., Possibility to Use Social Networks in Work of Crisis Staff. Diploms Thesis. VŠB – Technical university Ostrava, Faculty of protective engineering. 2019, 58 p. My diploma thesis is focused on the possibilities of using social networks as a part of taskforce activities. The diploma thesis is divided into sections. The introduction is dedicated to terminology and definition of terms, where I deal with crisis management especially during the state of emergency. I will focus on the Central Crisis Staff, organization chart, activities, and workplace. Followed by an explanation of concepts such as crowdsourcing, crisis mapping, and social media. The following section belongs to the company Ushahidi, which provides open-source maps, used as a basis for the crisis map of the Czech Republic. The crisis map of the Czech Republic is further presented and analyzed as an application for crises. In the last chapter, I deal with the current crisis, namely the spread of the COVID-19 plague, focussing on the possibility of crisis mapping.
