Abstract
This thesis deals with the technology of casting heavy metallurgical cylinders. These cylinders are cast from materials that ensure high hardness of their working layer. The high hardness and abrasion resistance of the metallurgical cylinders is due to the chemical composition of the steel and the rapid cooling of the cylinder surface during casting on the cooler. High stress relieving tendency, these materials place high demands on the casting technology of this type of cylinders. Numerical simulation of both solidification and tension was used to verify the various variants of the casting technology. Parameters were optimized within the simulations.
