Abstract
This thesis focuses on photovoltaic power plants and electricity storage. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part describes the historical development and the
principle of operation of photovoltaic systems, including the classification of different types of PV systems. Furthermore, this part is devoted to the possibilities of electrical energy storage, whereby different storage technologies are described in detail. In the practical part, three variants of installation of a photovoltaic power plant on a specific object of the company SECTRON s.r.o., located at the address Josefa Šavla 12, Ostrava 9, are proposed. On
the basis of the technical and economic evaluation, the most suitable variant in terms of return on investment was selected. For this option, the optimal battery for electricity accumulation was further designed and then an economic comparison was made to determine the most suitable solution for the building in terms of electricity consumption and production.
