Abstract
The main objective of this thesis is to identify a relationship between unemployment and selected economic indicators in the Czech Republic. The secondary objective is to verify whether are examined relations in accordance with the Okun´s law, the Phillips curve and the Beveridge curve. Theoretical part deals with unemployment issues and unemployment in relation to other economic indicators in theoretical concepts. Empirical studies are used to determine the validity of these concepts in the various economies of the world including the Czech Republic. Most plausible relationships are verified and described in detail by time series analysis, correlation analysis, Granger causality test and their mathematical and graphical representation in the practical part. In the thesis are analysed the quarterly data from the first quarter of 2005 till the second quarter of 2016. The result of analyses confirms anticipated relationships and verifies the validity of the Beveridge curve, the Okun´s law and the Phillips curve for a short run. Based on the analysis of these results are made recommendations for economic policy makers in the Czech Republic.
