Abstract
The subject of this bachelors thesis is to assess the economic development of the company Výzkumný ústav pro hnědé uhlí a.s. Most in the years 2009 – 2013 using selected methods of financial analyses. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part deals with the basic concepts and methodological basis. In the practical part the defined methods are, used to the selected company. The results are then evaluated and compared with industry. Finally, recommendations and measures are made to increase the effectiveness of management for the above mentioned company.
