Dlouhodobé měření parametrů pasivních optických členů vystavených radiačním vlivům

Abstract

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to investigate the effects of thermal and radiation ageing on passive optical components. Gamma radiation is used to accelerate the time degradation process. The effects of ageing were observed on optical splitters that were exposed to this irradiation. This thesis focuses on changes in transmission parameters of optical splitters before, during and long after exposure to irradiation. The whole investigation is based on the assumption of an increased attenuation during irradiation and its subsequent decrease during the relaxation of the optical fibre material.
