Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the use of alternative fuels in cement plants, especially in terms of energy and potentially material use. The use of alternative fuels in cement plants is considered as energy recovery, but mineral components in the form of ash that are incorporated into the structure of clincer (an intermediate product in cement production), whereby a certain technical proportion of alternative fuels is recycled at the material level. At present, it is not classify one component under more than one code designation, and therefore the cement industry is lobbying for the introduction of a new code designation. This diploma thesis aims to evaluate the potential impact of the introduction of a new category of „co-processing“ on the statistical reporting of the amount of recycled material within one plant Lafarge Cement, a.s. was chosen as the model cement plant in Čížkovice, which has agreed to provide data for analyzes of alternative fuels that it uses.
