Abstract
The bachelor thesis consists of the issue of hormonally active substances and the possibility of their biological degradation in the environment. Endocrine disruptors are exogenous substances capable of altering the normal function of the endocrine system, whereby they may cause negative changes in the organism. The thesis contains an overview and a categorization of disruptors, mechanisms of action and the negative impact on the health of wildlife and humans. Because of the bioaccumulation of the substances in the environment and in food chains, the paper also treat the possibilities of biodegradation of endocrine disruptors due to bacteria, fungal organisms, algae, plankton and yeast. It also includes a comparison of biodegradation organisms and substances that they are enable to biodegradate.
