Možnosti rizika výbuchu polymerních materiálů během přechodného děje

Abstract

The bachelor's thesis deals with the possibility of creating the risk of explosion of polymer clouds of dust initiated by an arc discharge in a company that produces modified polymer granules for further use in the automotive industry. Granulated polypropylene and polyethylene are mainly used as input materials, mixed with additional organic and inorganic substances in granular or powder form. Dust with flammable and, therefore, explosive characteristics is generated during production. The output quantity here is the length of the arc discharge generated in the switchboards, which can ignite the swirling combustible dust. Explosive dust may explode after ignition. IEEE analysis is used here to analyse the arc discharge length and subsequent measures to reduce that risk.
