Predikce úspěšnosti ECMO u pacientů s ARDS pomocí dostupných skórovacích systémů

Abstract

Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) is one of the lifesaving therapies for patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. It involves complications and considerable costs. Several scoring systems have been proposed and verified in clinical studies in an attempt to improve the prediction of clinical outcome. The theoretical part represents an introduction of the scoring systems and is followed by physiology and patophysiology of breathing. The communication includes clarification of the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation method and verification of epidemiology studies focused on mortality prediction. The practical part of the bachelor thesis addresses development of an automatic ECMOnet scoring system for measuring of mortality risk in patients hospitalized at intensive care unit and undergoing ECMO. Another subject of the research is the scoring system application in clinical practice at clinic of Anestesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Medicine of University Hospital Ostrava. The conclusion of the thesis provides recommendations for practice.
