Abstract

This thesis deals with correlations between firefighting equipment used by the Fire Department of the City of Prague at Fire Station No. 8 – Radotín, and increases in traffic density in this station's firefighting district. For clarity, the thesis contains parts dealing with the development of transport infrastructure in Prague and its current situation, changes in the mix of cars and trucks during the last twenty years, and trends in firefighting vehicles used over the same time span. The conclusions lists recommended organizational, staffing and equipment changes and changes to the firefighting vehicle fleet so that this Fire Department unit's responses are in accordance with growth in Prague traffic levels and transportation network evolution in the relevant firefighting district.
