Abstract

This thesis is focused on possibilities of the particulate matters dedusting from the production process in selected sections of the metallurgical plant. It deals with the issue of particulate matter generated during the production of pig iron, so the work presents the manufacturing process at the three main sections of the metallurgical enterprise for the production of pig iron (agglomeration, coke plant, blast furnace) and the possible formation of particulate emissions in individual sections. The iron and steel industry is a highly material and energy-intensive industry. More than half of the mass input becomes outputs in the form of off-gases and solid wastes or by-products. The emissions from sinter plants dominate the overall emissions for most of the pollutants. The contribution of this sector to the total emissions to air in the EU is considerable for a number of pollutants. The next chapter describes dedusting equipments for capturing particulate matters and principles on which they work. The last chapter is focused on analysis of the world literary knowledge.
