Abstract

To excavate the tunnel using mechanized Full-Face Tunneling Machines, we need to ensure security. It is important to establish a stabilizing pressure to ensure stability at the tunnel face. Using analytical methods the problem can be dealt with quickly and with sufficient accuracy as in the lengthy modeling using computer software. Analytical methods are divided into two groups, methods limit equilibrium and limit analysis methods. Methods for setting minimum stabilizing pressure to move toward the face and stabilizing the maximum pressure for the so-called thrust forward, pushing soil or toward the surface. Analytical methods are for cohesive soils for non-cohesive soils. Most of these methods are designed for a homogenous environment. In this work we are given the results of alternative calculation according to input data and their scope. Comparison of methods in cohesive soils, according to the input parameters of the methods and the same was done for non-cohesive soils. Further calculation parameters assumed by ČSN 73 1001 for fine-grained soils. Builds the Macro calculation in Excel environment to facilitate the calculations.
