Abstract

Submitted bachelor's thesis discusses ecological and faunal characteristics of land gastropods originating from the chosen part of mining region (Karviná-Doly). The intent of the thesis is to inform about factors that influence land gastropods occurrence, its bioindicating importance and the problems related with its collection and determination. First part describes general characteristics of a malacofauna with a focus on land mollusks as the indicators of diversity, its bioindicating importance and main ecological factors that influence structure of land malacocenoses. Next part is dedicated to history of the research of mollusks of Karviná region, territory determination with its evolution characteristics and the description of the natural conditions of explored territory followed by the characteristics of biota in the explored area. In this part there is also a brief list of flora and fauna with emphasis on land species. The bachelor's thesis handles and describes the found species of mollusks in the given area. There were found 13 species of land gastropods of which 5 species were with a conch and 7 without it. In light of IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria (2001) there were not found any species of vulnerable and endangered categories. The found mollusks were mostly common species. The following species belonged into the near threatened category: Daudebardia rufa and Deroceras praecox. There were also found two non-native species in the area: Boettgerilla pallens and Arion lusitanicus.
