Abstract
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the optimisation of equipment for fire protection units in the field of personal protective equipment and personal gear used during operations in open terrain and outdoor environments, particularly in the context of forest fires. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the characteristics of such fires, the associated risks, the system of international humanitarian assistance, and the certification process for protective equipment. The practical part is based on a questionnaire survey aimed at identifying the current state of equipment across various regions, including the Rescue Unit of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. It also draws on market analysis and expert consultations. Based on the findings, an optimal composition of personal protective equipment and gear is proposed for both standard fire protection units and members of international rescue contingents. The thesis also addresses the issues of transport, packaging, and storage of the equipment on intervention vehicles, at fire stations, and during the relocation of individual personnel. The final section includes an indicative cost estimate of the proposed equipment and provides a summary of recommendations for improving the current situation.
