Abstract
The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the impact of the use of BIM methodology on the quality and accuracy of project documentation in comparison with traditional 2D design. The thesis focuses on assessing differences in approaches to the creation, management, and control of project information and their effect on the overall quality of the documentation.
The theoretical part describes the principles of Building Information Modeling and traditional design, from the perspective of model creation and information handling, including their mutual relationships. The practical part is based on a specific construction project, within which a comparison is carried out between traditional 2D project documentation and outputs created in the BIM environment. The evaluation focuses on the accuracy of processing, the consistency of information, the occurrence of errors, and the need for their subsequent resolution during the design process.
Based on the conducted analysis, it was found that the use of BIM contributes to increased consistency of project information, improves the ability to verify their mutual relationships, and supports the identification of errors in project documentation at an earlier stage of processing. The conclusions of the thesis are based on the analysis of the addressed project and correspond to the conditions under which it was developed.
