Abstract

This thesis deals with the thermal insulation in the basement ceiling of combustible material and using a mathematical model field type. The model was used primarily to assess the impact of flammable insulation on the development of fire and smoke escape routes. The first part describes the fires in enclosed spaces, smoke properties and hazards of combustion products, as well as mathematical modeling of fires. An important part of the thesis consists of a practical part devoted to mathematical modeling of fires and problems of insulation in the basement ceiling. A model fire in the program Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), chosen different fire scenarios and the differences observed during the fire.
