Abstract

The aim of thesis is quantification influence of ambitions individual approximated need to excel in area of it‘s business and it‘s success on labour market. Specifically there is research influence this psychological factor to wages. For thesis is ambition understand as trying of performance which are generally recognized and appreciated. For this thesis were used data Pytliková, Filipová, Gottvald, et al. (2012), which was got from questionnaire research which filled in employee 25-54 years old in 2011. On the basis of this research is possible to identify characteristic of ambition people. It emerged that 12 % people are ambitious and 40 % rather ambitious. From ambitious people is 57 % men. In regression were created 4 models. In all models is ambition statistical significant. For example in model which include only ambition there is gross wage return 10,40 % when is ambition increase on one standard deviation. Generally people with increase ambition have higher wages. Statistic significant are others psychological traits. For example cognitive skills or persistence.
