Abstract
Impact of DEZA Operations on the Environment in the Region of Zlín
Environment and its protection is a frequently discussed topic in many countries around the world. Chemical factories belong among the biggest polluters in the Czech Republic.
Of the numerous polluters, I focused on the company DEZA in the Zlin region specializing in the processing of coal tar and crude benzol. The aim of the work is to get acquainted with hazardous substances which the company releases, as well as with their properties. This work also aims to show the most important programs and measures implemented by the Czech Republic and the European Union, and to mention specific actions that is DEZA taking to mitigate their impact on the environment.
The problem with pollution by the DEZA company will probably never be completely eliminated. However, in comparison with previous years we can see positive results, namely
a reduction in the emission of dangerous benzene and naphthalene. The main finding is that the negative impact of DEZA on the environment has been decreasing.
