Abstract

The aim of this work is to introduce with biosorption process and factors, which is affecting it. In the practical part of the thesis I deal with the determination of adsorption kinetics of chip walnut (Juglans regia). In this work I examined chemically non-activated biosorbent and its ability to adsorb hexavalent chromium from solutions. To determine the spectrophotometric method was used. Biosorbents was mechanically converted into chips and then divided according to grain size classes (1-2; 2-3 and 3-4 mm). For the biosorption was used model solution of hexavalent chromium concentration 100mg/l. Ability to adsorb chromium was measured at selected time intervals (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12 a 24 hours). At the end of this thesis I propose further steps to increase the sorption capacity of walnut wood chips.
