Analýza problematiky syndromu vyhoření a jeho prevence u manažerů

Abstract

This master’s thesis deals with the issue of burnout syndrome and its prevention in managers. The aim of the master’s thesis is to propose recommendations for improving the given situation, based on the analysis of the current situation of burnout syndrome among selected managers, including the design of suitable psychohygienic techniques and emphasis on prevention. The master’s thesis consists of two main parts. The first part of the thesis deals with the theoretical basis of the burnout syndrome and its prevention, where the problem of the burnout syndrome is clarified based on the study of professional literature and the basic terms are explained. The second application-verification part of the work is devoted to the characteristics of the selected respondents who were the subject of the analysis, including the characteristics of the companies where the selected managers were approached. Further, this part is devoted to the actual analysis of the current situation of burnout among managers and to suggestions and recommendations for improving their situation. The analysis of the questionnaire survey results shows in overall satisfaction with the current position, job content and the tendency to remain in the given job position. Despite the expressed overall satisfaction, each manager mentioned at least one difficulty that can support the emergence of burnout syndrome. From the analysis of an individual personal interview with an interviewee who experienced burnout syndrome, it can be concluded that the emergence of burnout syndrome is not only supported by chronic work stress, but by a combination of work stress and personal problems. Based on a questionnaire survey, proposals and recommendations were made leading to the improvement of the current situation of manager burnout syndrome, including the emphasis on preventive measures. Among the developed proposals and recommendations for selected managers are the reduction or elimination of stress, time management, sufficient sleep, healthy lifestyle, work-life balance, psychohygiene, education and raising awareness of burnout syndrome and seeking professional help.
