The thesis aims to analyze the cost of housing in different types and sizes of flats on the basis of model types of households in Havířov and confirm or refute the hypothesis. Hypothesis no. 1: Owner-occupied housing is less expensive than rental housing in the form of all sizes an apartment in Havirov. As standard housing is considered to be living in such a household size of the apartment, which corresponds to the number of household members. Hypothesis no. 2: For single-person households and households in which there are at least two economically active persons is available to home ownership flats in the size corresponding to the number of household members. The theoretical part characterizes the housing policy of the Czech Republic, describes the types of housing policies, forms of housing. It includes entities and housing policy instruments and finally mentions the concept of state housing. In conclusion are described briefly household incomes and expenditures in connection with housing. The practical part is focused on the evaluation and analysis of household income on housing costs in different types and sizes of flats and scored the best housing option for individual types of households in Havířov.
