Abstract

In my bachelor's thesis I deal with the issue of road dust in the city of Ostrava. In the first part of my bachelor's thesis I deal with the theoretical concept of dust particles, airborne dust and road dust. I deal with division of dust particles and their origin.In the next part I focus on characteristics of region of Ostrava, specifically on source of pollution, climate conditions, soil geochemistry and describing urbanized area. Of course, I also deal with the impact on the environment and the impact on human health. The second part is practical, where I focus on road dust within the city of Ostrava. Here I present the results of road dust research and analysis.I specify sampling methodology, methods for the identification of pollution sources and finally, I specify the methods of handling street dust.
