Abstract

This thesis aims to describe the effects of a gas on a particular fire-technical characteristic. The thesis is divided into a practical part and a theoretical part. In the first, theoretical part, I dealt with describing the topic of fire-technical characteristics followed by the topics of combustion, what causes combustion, and how to stop the process of combustion. Next I shifted my attention to the properties of gases that I used throughout the measurement. The last part of this thesis deals with measuring the oxygen index of two textiles during which I used different kinds of gas mixtures. At the end I compared and evaluated the results.
