Abstract
The objective of this bachelor work is to design suitable roll material for a pre-rolling mill stand from the point of view of technical parameters in connection to economic parameters. In the introduction I have described the structure, material and calibration of metallurgical rolls. In the following parts there follows an analysis and working out of data for rails 136RE, 60E1 and 60E2 focused on surface defects and the pre-scale values for the following periods 12/2011 up to 10/2012 in Třinec Ironworks. The concluding part is made up of key factors influencing the selection of roll material for a pre-rolling mill stand, a final summation of processed data, the advantages and disadvantages of individual types of rolls and some recommendations.
