Abstract

The presented thesis "Monitoring of highway body embankments" analyzes geodesical and geotechnical monitoring carried out on the reinforced soil support wall constructed in the sector Svinov - Hrusov of the highway D 47. The reinforced soil structures issues, their monitoring and use of secondary rough from Moravian-Silesian Region is treated first. Follows the description and evaluation of the monitoring applied to this object. The creative part of this thesis tended to create the surveillance procedure of such structures using the geodesical methods. The procedures were carried out in accordance with valid standard specifications. It contains the constitution of the monitoring station, the measured method accuracy analysis, the measured data evaluation and suitable results presentation. The cost and time expensive nature of the executed works generated the proposal of simplified and effective monitoring system, once the construction of the object is accomplished. This method anticipates the direct interaction between the construction-subsoil system and the measured settlement, which is used as the only input parameter of this method. In order to evaluate in details the behavior of the structure, several convenient statistical and numerical modeling methods were carried out. The increase of the watter table was also simulated on the final numerical model.
