Abstract
Coal mining devastates the landscape, which is why all mining companies are obliged to reclaim the area after mining is finished. Even during the mining process, they have to pay part of the profits into a fund specifically for future reclamation. This thesis introduces the general concept of reclamation, differentiates between the types of reclamation used in North Bohemia and, due to the topic, the majority of the thesis is devoted to hydraulic reclamation. The Ore Mountains region is divided into several districts and in each district individual hydraulic projects and the lakes created are presented. The most famous of these is Lake Most, which is flourishing and attracts visitors from all over the area. Hydraulic reclamation is a demanding process, but thanks to it, the originally disturbed landscape is returning to nature and people can live here better and find a place to relax and play sports.
