Abstract

The subject of this thesis is the study of influence of production technology on the mechanical properties and structure of AlSi10Mg alloy. The theoretical part presents the main characteristics of Al-Si alloys (particularly AlSi10Mg). The practical part is focused on the casting of specimens in accordance with chosen technological processes, the relevant tests and the final summary of the results. The satisfactory mechanical properties (especially, tensile strength after casting, which is 150 MPa as minimum) were reached only for one sample, however the modified eutectic was not detected there. Generally we can say the achieved results of the specimens for tensile tests are not well reproducible. Furthermore, the achieved results didn’t allow to choose the optimal technological process in order to achieve the tensile strength of AlSi10Mg alloy as required.
