Abstract
The aim of this work is to investigate structural and phase changes in polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanocomposite materials with copper oxide nanoparticles and antimicrobial organic components. The theoretical part were based on the literature review on the theme of PVDF nanocomposite materials, copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles, CuO/organic component/clay mineral nanocomposite materials and their applications. In the experimental part clay nanofillers of CuO/vermiculite and CuO/vermiculite/organic component were sonochemically prepared. Chlorhexidine, octenidine and ciclopiroxolamine were used as organic components. The nanofillers were incorporated into the PVDF matrix by ex-situ method. The nanofillers PVDF nanocomposite materials were characterized by optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TGA).
