Abstract
The present work was made as continuing of my bachelor thesis , in which I have prepared a new yet unpublished salts based on quinolinium , isoquinolinium and tetrahydroquinolinium tetrafluoroborates and trifluoroacetates . These onium salts have been frequently studied in the last 15 years because of their properties as ionic liquids. These compounds attract considerable attention and found always new application. Present work concerns the process of carbon dioxide separating from the gas stream (CCS technology), whose purpose is to reduce its emissions of a most serious greenhouse gas. The aim of work was to test the possibility to use above mentioned salts for absorption and adsorption of carbon dioxide. The solution includes construction and testing of a suitable apparatus for the quantitative monitoring of carbon dioxide absorption in liquids. The other objective was also to test the possibility of modification of commercial sorbents by use of their surface impregnation the surface of the listed salts and thus increasing their affinity for carbon dioxide.
