Abstract

The presented thesis is focused on the assessment of the types of blasting systems in the casting ladle and their influence on the steel performance. In the first chapter, the thesis deals with the influence of different elements on the steel performance, steel desulphurisation and non-metallic inclusions during argon blowing in the casting ladle. In the second chapter the thesis deals with the casting ladle, here the layers in the casting ladle and the effect of the location of the blasting elements are described in detail. The third chapter deals in detail with the different types of blasting elements, the formation of bubbles in the casting ladle, the effect of blasting elements on the mixing of steel in the casting ladle. The fourth chapter is devoted to secondary metallurgy equipment and the last fifth chapter deals with the experimental part, where the emphasis is on the desulphurisation of steel and a comparison is made between the slotted and hybrid blast system.
