dc.description.abstractThe paper presents characteristics of mechanical transmission systems with noncircular wheels. Three types of trnasmission systems are presented: a toothed gear with non-circular wheels, chain transmission systems with periodically variable transmission ratio obtained thanks to the use of non-circular wheels or round eccentrically mounted wheels and varible-speed toothed belt transmission systems. Examples of their usage are presented in diagrams. Conclusion contains analysis of selected kinematic and geometrical characteristics of the selected transmission systems.
