Abstract

In the bachelor thesis we analyze user testing of websites for selected accommodation facilities in Lednice. We focused on the usability of two versions of the website - an old version from 2011 and a new version created by the author of this bachelor thesis in 2024. The aim of the thesis is to determine whether the replacement of the old version was justified and whether the new version offers a better user experience. We have divided the thesis into parts, the first of which we use to theoretically define online marketing and further characterize the selected accommodation facilities. We discuss the research methodology in Section 4, in which we describe the preparation and implementation phases. We follow this with an analysis of the data collected during the testing of the respondents, which is structured according to the course of the testing itself - the first impression of the respondents after a brief preview of the website, the times required to successfully complete the tasks and a comparison of the two versions from the respondents' perspective. We have recorded all the results in the relevant tables and graphs and based on them we can conclude that the change of the website paid off. During the first impression, we noticed more positive findings on the newer version, which also managed to reduce the task times. These results were further confirmed when comparing the versions according to the subjective opinions of the respondents. Based on the results of the testing, we made suggestions and recommendations to help the author optimize the new version of the website and increase its user-friendliness. The recommendations relate mainly to the content structure, visual elements and easier access to accommodation information. The work also includes appendices in which we have prepared questions for respondents, consent to take audio recordings during testing, and a list of tasks.
