Abstract
This master thesis deals with the issue of textile wastewater and their effect on aquatic microorganisms. The work deals with the global environmental impact of the textile industry with a focus on the toxicity of dissolved synthetic dyes and other contaminants in wastewater. The introductory part of the work summarizes the properties of textile wastewater and the problems arising in their treatment. The theoretical part of the work describes individual groups of natural dyes and pigments and deals with their possibilities of use in the textile industry. The experimental part tests the ability of biodegradation of selected natural and synthetic dyes by microorganisms from the group of bacteria, fungi and algae. The whole experiment lasted 7 days and the course of degradation was analyzed using the Biolog test system.
