Komparativní analýza horninového prostředí pro instalaci vrtaného tepelného výměníku v areálu VŠB-TUO

Abstract

Comparative Analysis of Rock Environment for Borehole Heat Exchanger Instalation in the VSB-TUO campus. Ostrava: VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Civil Engineering. Department of Geotechnical and Underground Engineering, 2023. 78 pages. This thesis deals with a comparative analysis of the rock environment for installing a BHE. Analysis of the rock environment is a decisive factor that serves for optimal design and thus contributes to significant savings in the cost of implementing BHE’s. Before analysis the geological structure of the area of interest and the creation of the geological model was evaluated. This model was created by gathering information about the area of interest and their subsequent adjustment to import into the Leapfrog Geo software in which the 3D geological model was processed. The selected area of interest is located near the VSB-TUO building on Krasnopolska Street for which the heat exchanger was designed. In addition to these preparatory steps the thesis deals with the realization of the heat exchanger and description of the legislative matters related to this process. Numerical approach has been chosen to design the system parameters using FEFLOW 8.0 Standard software. In this software has been made several simulations that consider the influence of groundwater flow in the quaternary collector whose thickness in area of interest ranges from several meters to an approximate thickness of 20 meters. The result of the simulations was the reaction of rock environment to the consumption of thermal energy for heating in selected object.
