Zálohování virtuálních systémů

Abstract

This bachelor thesis is mainly focused on backup of virtual machines and an explanation of this issue. First, the reader is introduced to a general description of backups, backup types, and backup tools. After that this thesis deals with virtualization platforms. The virtualization tools VMware ESXi, Proxmox VE and QEMU are gradually introduced, and their practical installation and basic settings are completely described. The next part deals with Windows and Linux operating systems and their installation in virtualization platforms. In the practical part, backup and recovery are tested and the test results are evaluated. The results are evaluated and compared in terms of hot and cold backups, CPU and RAM usage, duration of individual backups, total backup size and recovery time. This is tested on VMware ESXi, Proxmox VE and QEMU hypervisors.
